Logging Key Settings Menu

This menu is used to define the keys that will be available in the instrument's or local Control Bar and to define the routing of the global keyboard.

Please note:
The keys shown in this menu do not affect the instrument's appearance directly. Instead of that, they determine whether or not a key will be available in the instrument's specific Control Bar, specific keyboard, or how it is connected to the "Global Keyboard" instrument. All keys switched to "on" in the Control Bar section will appear in the Control Bar of this instrument. All keys switched to "on" in the Keyboard section will appear in the screen keyboard of this instrument. In the "Global Keyboard" section, individual instrument key functions can be assigned to keys defined in the Global Keyboard instrument.

Control Bar section

All keys set to "on" in this section will be available in the Control Bar of the Logging instrument. To use these keys with the Control Bar, the Logging instrument (with empty display frame yet) included in an audio group should be placed on the screen with the View function. Then, Loudness measurements can be done without the need of adding Loudness Sum or Loudness Num instruments to the audio group the Logging instrument is part of.

• USB run
This key is only available, if the Logging instrument is running in USB mode. It has toggle function with "USB run" or "USB close" switching state and is used to control the storage of the logging data to an USB flash drive.

Options:

on | off

Default value:

on

In normal operation touching the key labelled with "USB run" starts storing the logging data into a logfile on the connected USB flash drive. Stopping, resetting or restarting the measurement writes corresponding flags into the logfile. While this procedure is running, the status message "USB Logging – running" (green) is displayed in the top line of the Logging instrument.

In normal operation touching the key labelled with "USB close" now stops storing the logging data, stores them on the connected USB flash drive and closes the logfile. While this procedure is running, the status message "USB Logging – busy" (red) is displayed in the top line of the Logging instrument. The logged data of two audio groups are stored in folder "rtw\logging\" in separate files being named "device name_audio group_serial number_date-time.db". Use a SQLite compatible data base browser to view or to export e. g. into a CSV file.

Important note:
Never remove the USB flash drive from the unit while these procedures are active! Wait until the status message "USB Logging – ready" (yellow) is displayed in the top line of the Logging instrument!

Please note:
When storing to USB flash drive, every manually started/closed logging sequence writes its own logfile. Additionally, data of long running logging sequences will be stored to a new logfile every 24 hours.

Global Keyboard section

This section is used to assign individual instrument functions to Global Keyboard keys. In this way, one single Global Keyboard key can control functions of several instruments even if they are placed in different Audio Groups. Also, using the Global Keyboard, instrument keys can be controlled externally using the GPIO interface of the TouchMonitor. To assign an instrument key to a Global Keyboard key, first select that instrument key in the "Global Keyboard" section. Then, assign it to one of the available Global Keyboard keys in the "Selection" area.

Please note:
The keys in this section will be available only after the "Global Keyboard" instrument was created in the Non-Audio Group before. Also, at least one key must be set to the "Instrument" key function mode in the Global Keyboard instrument's menu.
