Time & Gate Menu

This menu is used to set or display time constants and gate parameters for loudness measurements. When entering this menu after one of the loudness standards was selected, the time and gate parameters are displayed according to the selected standard and, in most cases, cannot be edited. However, in Custom loudness mode, the parameter values of EBU R128 (or any other standard selected with "Set to default") are set by default but can be edited individually.

Momentary section  

  

• Integration Time
This key is used to set the "Integration Time (SQR)" for "Momentary" loudness in custom mode. According to the definitions in the standards, the integration time is fixed.

IEC 125 ms Fast | 250 ms (IRT) | 500 ms | 750 ms | IEC 1000 ms Slow | 1500 ms | 2000 ms
Integration Time (SQR):

  

200 ms | 300 ms | 400 ms | 500 ms | 600 ms | 700 ms | 800 ms | 900 ms | 1000 ms

Default value:

  

Integration IEC 1000 ms slow (only with LEQ(M)/TASA/SAWA)
Integration Time 400 ms (all other standards)

Short section  

  

• Integration Time
This key is used to set the integration time for "Short" loudness measurements.

Options:

  

1 s to 20 s in steps of 1 s

Default value:

Integrated section  

  

• Silence Gate
This key is used to set the silence gate threshold for "Integrated" loudness measurements. Also, the silence gate can be switched off.

Options:

  

off | -80 LUFS/LKFS to -40 LUFS/LKFS in steps of 0.5 LUFS/LKFS

Default value:

  

off (only with LEQ(M)/TASA/SAWA)
-70.0 LUFS/LKFS (all other standards)

  

• Relative Gate
This key is used to set the relative gate threshold for "Integrated" loudness measurements. Also, the relative gate can be switched off.

Options:

  

off | -40 LU to 0 LU in steps of 0.5 LU

Default value:

  

off (only with LEQ(M)/TASA/SAWA)
-8.0 LU (only with AGCOM)
-10.0 LU (all other standards)
