Loud. Recal. Menu (Loudness Recalculation)

This menu is used to choose a timecode-controlled loudness measurement either with recalculation or without. An audio group running in Timecode mode has to be applied before. To use the recalculation option, the Loud. Recal. instrument has to be in the audio group including one of the loudness instruments.
Commonly, this menu is used to set parameters for automatic or semi-automatic loudness measurements (test time control) of the selected loudness standard. It allows to define automatic start of the loudness measurement after loading a preset or when exceeding a threshold or gate (with or without reset). The automatic stop is defined in a corresponding way. If the parameters are set to "manual", the loudness measurement can be controlled by the use of the on-screen keys or the GPI interface.

Please note:
The setting parameters for test time control are also available in the "Test Time Control" sub menu of the "Audio Group: Loudness" menu. Both menus are synchronized, the settings affect the whole audio group.

Please note:
The Loud. Recal. instrument cannot be used with the Radar instrument in parallel in the same audio group.

Test Time Control section

• Start measurement
This key is used to define the way how to start loudness measurements.

autostart after load preset:

Loudness measurement starts automatically after a preset has been loaded

manual control only:

Loudness measurement can be started manually by using on-screen keys or the GPI interface

autostart gate:

Loudness measurement starts automatically when exceeding a selected threshold or gate

autostart gate / autoreset:

Loudness measurement starts automatically when exceeding a selected threshold or gate with prior clearing of previous values

link to timecode:

The start of the loudness measurement is linked to a timecode being applied to the unit.

link to timecode + recalc:

The start of the loudness measurement is linked to a timecode being applied to the unit including the recalculation of measured values.

Options:

autostart after load preset | manual control only | autostart gate | autostart gate / autoreset | link to timecode | link to timecode + recalc

Default value:

autostart after load preset

• Stop measurement
This key is used to define the way how to stop loudness measurements.
If "link to timecode" or "link to timecod + recalc" has been selected for the "Start measurement" function (see above), the measurement is completely controlled by a timecode. The key is greyed and displays "link to timecode", other selections are not available, then.

manual control only:

Loudness measurement can be stopped manually by using on-screen keys or the GPI interface

autostop gate:

Loudness measurement stops automatically when falling below a selected threshold or gate

autostop gate and time:

Loudness measurement stops automatically when falling below a selected threshold or gate for a defined span of time

Options:

manual control only | autostop gate | autostop gate and time

Default value:

manual control only

• Autostart Level
With this key the threshold for the autostart gate can be set. It is only available with the "autostart gate" or "autostart gate / autoreset" option of the "Start measurement" function (see above).

Options:

-85 LUFS/LKFS to -10 LUFS/LKFS in steps of 0.5 LUFS/LKFS

Default value:

-70.0 LUFS/LKFS

• Autostop Level
With this key the threshold for the autostop gate can be set. It is only available with the "autostop gate" or "autostop gate and time" option of the "Stop measurement" function (see above).

Options:

-85 LUFS/LKFS to -10 LUFS/LKFS in steps of 0.5 LUFS/LKFS

Default value:

-70.0 LUFS/LKFS

• Autostop Time
With this key the span of time for values below the threshold for the autostop gate can be set. It is only available with the "autostop gate and time" option of the "Stop measurement" function (see above).

Options:

1 s to 15 s in steps of 1 s

Default value:

1 s

• Timecode Rate
With this key the frame rate of the timecode being applied to the unit can be set. It is only available with the "link to timecode" or "link to timecode + recalc" options of the "Start measurement" function (see above).

Options:

23.89 fps | 24.00 fps | 24.98 fps | 25.00 fps | 29.97 fps | 30.00 fps

Default value:

30.00 fps
