Display Mode - Loudness Chart Instrument

General Description

In display mode, the TouchMonitor shows the instruments and their layout defined in the currently loaded preset.

Touching the screen area of an instrument will put this instrument into focus. This is recognized by a colored frame instead of a grey one. The frame color conforms to the identifier set for the group the focused instrument belongs to.

The Control Bar positioned at the lower screen edge contains several keys. It is displayed permanently if the "Control Bar" option in the "General" section of the "System" menu is set to "permanent". Otherwise, it will be displayed temporarily after touching the screen.

The Control Bar has two sections. The left (upper) section shows the specific keys defined for the focused instrument. This makes it very fast to access a specific function of one of the instruments on screen – just touch the instrument and select the desired function.

Please note:
The specific keys that are displayed in the left (upper) Control Bar section can be defined individually for each instrument. To do this, touch the "Edit Instrument" key and select the "Configure Keys" option in the menu. The default value for each key can be set in the menu as well.

Instrument Description

The Loudness Chart instrument is only available, if the Logging Data Server licence has been activated, or the unit is a TMR7-Radio or TMR7-Mount.

In the upper section, the Loudness Chart displays the quality (e. g. exceedings) of the relevant loudness values TP, M, S, and I on horizontal bars with individual definable colors. In the lower section, the progress of a measurement (value over time) can be displayed on a coordinate system with up to four graphs. Therefore, different display options are available. A dynamic line shows the position of the Relative Gate, and an additional bargraph for the display of the current I loudness value can be switched. If only one value is displayed, the tolerance range can additionally be displayed as a kind of corridor.

The setting functions for the coordinate system and analysis of the graphs are controlled with the keys that will be available in the instrument's and the local Control Bar and have been defined for the global keyboard. If the Timecode Reader licence is available on the unit (not TMR7-Radio and TMR7-Mount) and if an own audio group is running in Timecode mode, the loudness measurement can also be controlled via timecode including the option of recalculation.

Please note:
The Chart instrument cannot be used with the Radar instrument in parallel in the same audio group.

Please note:
On TMR7-Radio and TMR7-Mount some functions are limited or not available.

Please note:
When controlling the loudness measurement by the use of a timecode with recalculation activated, loudness data cannot be logged at the same time.

Control Bar - left (upper) section: Loudness Chart instrument functions

With the Loudness Chart instrument in focus, the left (upper) section of the Control Bar may contain any or all of the keys described below.

Please note:
Using the "Configure Keys" option in the Loudness Chart Menu, any key available for the Loudness Chart instrument may be removed from the Control Bar. Only keys set to "On" (default) in the Control Bar section of the "Loudness Chart Key Settings" menu are available in normal display mode with the Loudness Chart instrument in focus.

Please note:
If more than six keys have been activated, they will be placed on two layers. To toggle between the layers, please use key "More" being displayed on each layer.

Please note:
With some keys, further function layers will be opened to define sections or time grids, the running display will be hold to execute the functions. Use the back key to get back to the previous layer and to continue drawing the graphs.

• Clear View
This key is used to clear the display. The loudness measurement is not interrupted by this.

• Stretch
This key is used to show the whole measurement on the display area. The drawing of the graph is continued on the now displayed time grid.

• Time Select
Using this key holds the drawing of the graphs and opens another layer with selection and display options for the current measurement. At first, a white frame is put around the displayed time span. With the arrow keys the frame can be moved on the time line to find a specific point of the measurement. The displayed time stamps left and right above the horizontal bars show the start and end positions of the framed section. With other keys the frame can be scaled down and its refined content can be scaled up for evaluation. The back key is used to get back to the previous layer and to continue drawing the graphs.
With the activated "Time Select" key another layer with the following functions is available:

<–

Moves the frame in steps of the marked time span to the left

–>

Moves the frame in steps of the marked time span to the right

–>| |<–

Scales down the marked time span, symmetrically from the left and the right each with one step, if possible

<–| |–>

Scales up the marked time span, symmetrically to the left and the right each with one step, if possible

Magnify

Scales up the content of the frame, if it is not using the whole display area

Back

Switches back to the previous layer and to normal operation of the Chart instrument

• Time Range
Using this key holds the drawing of the graphs and opens another layer with selection options for the adjustment of the time grid on the coordinate system. Beside the keys for dividing the time grid into hour or minute units, also keys for expanding or reducing the time grid in steps of ten or single steps are available. The back key is used to get back to the previous layer and to continue drawing the graphs.
With the activated "Time Range" key another layer with the following functions is available:

Hour/Min

Selection for deviding the display into hour or minute units

+10

Expansion of the displayed time grid in steps of 10 hours or 10 minutes

–10

Reduction of the displayed time grid in steps of 10 hours or 10 minutes

+1

Expansion of the displayed time grid in steps of 1 hour or 1 minute

–1

Reduction of the displayed time grid in steps of 1 hour or 1 minute

Back

Switches back to the previous layer and to normal operation of the Chart instrument

• Start
This key is used to start the loudness measurement.
