In display mode, the TouchMonitor shows the instruments and their layout defined in the currently loaded preset.
Touching the screen area of an instrument will put this instrument into focus. This is recognized by a colored frame instead of a grey one. The frame color conforms to the identifier set for the group the focused instrument belongs to.
The Control Bar positioned at the lower screen edge contains several keys. It is displayed permanently if the "Control Bar" option in the "General" section of the "System" menu is set to "permanent". Otherwise, it will be displayed temporarily after touching the screen.
The Control Bar has two sections. The left (upper) section shows the specific keys defined for the focused instrument. This makes it very fast to access a specific function of one of the instruments on screen – just touch the instrument and select the desired function.
The Loudness Sum instrument is only available after one of the loudness modes or Custom was selected for the audio group the instrument is in. According to the selected standard or to the customer specific settings, it shows the combined total loudness consisting of the summed single channels of a signal. This instrument shows up to three bargraphs representing measurements with individual integration time constants. For stereo sources, the L and R channels are summed. For 5.1 sources, the five main channels (5.0) are used for the measurement.
The bargraphs available in the Loudness Sum instrument show the following:
• |
M (Momentary): |
|
Summed momentary loudness measurements of the individual channels using an integration time of 400 ms. |
• |
S (Shortterm): |
|
Summed loudness measurement using an integration time of 3 s and a sliding window. |
• |
I (Integrated): |
|
Overall program loudness between start and end points that are entered manually. Use the Start, Stop and Reset buttons to execute this measurement. |
The three bargraphs representing these loudness measurements can be activated or disabled individually.
Two different scale types are available for loudness measurements:
• |
Absolute scale in LKFS or LUFS (depending on the loudness standard selected). |
||
• |
Relative scale in LU. |
On the relative scale, 0 LU corresponds to their target level defined in the selected loudness standard. In EBU R128, the target level is –23 LUFS. In ATSC A/85, the target level is –24 LKFS. –23 LUFS is identical to –23 LKFS. In order to conform to the individual loudness standard used, the measured program should read the „Integrated“ target level of this standard. Using EBU R128, it should read 0 LU on a relative scale or –23 LUFS on an absolute scale.
The parameters used for the loudness measurement as well as the channel weighting levels are displayed resp. set using the "Loudness" key in the "Audio Group" menu.
With the Loudness Sum instrument in focus, the left (upper) section of the Control Bar may contain any or all of the keys described below.
The right (lower) section of the Control Bar always contains the following four keys:
